Jai Ho! Pure Bollywood Dance Party

The Jai Ho (celebration of victory in Hindi) Dance Party is an invitation to celebrate the victory of true passion over obligation by Engineer turned Performer Prashant, who is following his passion for entertainment and making thousands dance to Desi (Indian) beats across the nation!

The name “Bollywood” is a portmanteau of Bombay (the former name for Mumbai) and Hollywood. The dancing in Older Bollywood films, was primarily modeled on classical Indian dance styles, while in modern films, Indian dance elements often blend with Western dance styles to create a unique fusion that can only be described as Bollywood Dance. The signature high-energy joyful dance and song of Bollywood has iconic following around the world.

Pure Bollywood Dance Party presents a unique opportunity to experience old school retro to latest Bollywood dance tunes seamlessly blended by Prashant. A trained Indian Classical singer, Prashant will also sing LIVE popular dance numbers as part of the DJ set.

No previous dance experience necessary as Prashant (NW Dance Project, PCC and PSU World Dance Faculty) will teach a special Bollywood Dance workshop beginning at 10:00 PM.

Come early for fun dance lessons and stay late to show off your new moves on the (spring loaded) dance floor!

This Saturday, PURE Bollywood is also featuring Retro Bollywood set with MC Abhi.

About Prashant

This multi-talented Cornell Graduate and ex- Intel Engineer is a Bollywood Singer, Dance Instructor, and DJ, spinning an eclectic mix of Internationa犀利士
l dance music to packed houses nationwide.  He has moved masses, from kids to elders across both coasts of America including in New York City, Washington D.C., Bay Area, Seattle and Portland.

With LIVE singing and dancing blended into his seamless DJ sets, a dance party featuring Prashant is an experience compelling anyone and everyone to dance.

As a dance teacher, Prashant has taught Bollywood and Bhangra at PCC, PSU, and currently teaches at the Center for Movement Arts.

He is the lead singer for Pancham as well as MC for Tarana – two popular Bollywood bands in Portland.
