Imagine a scene straight out of a Bollywood Horror film!
An Indian wedding has gone awry as an ungodly blast during the 7-circles-around-the-fire ritual transforms the attendees into, well, Bollywood dancing Thriller zombies! This is the dream (more like a nightmare) sequence on which choreographer & DJ, Prashant conjured up the Bollywood Thriller dance in 2011 with help from his dance partner, Brittany Newton.
Set to a musical mashup of a Hindi Indian wedding song with Michael Jackson’s Thriller, the Bollywood Thriller is a perfect amalgamation of iconic dance moves from both Bollywood films & the Thriller dance itself. Paired with Prashant’s popular Jai Ho! Dance Party, The Bollywood Thriller has, over the years, grown into an infamous Halloween dance party complete with a costume contest & even a midnight performance.

Good question. It is both & more! You can join Prashant weekly on Wednesdays to learn the dance & then perform it at our virtual Halloween party on October 31. More than the dance & the party itself, we hope you will find a beautiful inclusive dance community to be part of as well!

Now in its 10th year, and with the world under lockdown, The Bollywood Thriller is going virtual, & thereby, GLOBAL! So no matter where in the world you are, YOU can be the star (or villain) at our weekly virtual dance classes culminating into a horrific costume party on October 31!

HOW DO I JOIN THE PARTY & DO I HAVE TO WEAR A COSTUME FOR IT?
Party will stream LIVE online on October 31, 8pm (PST) onward.
Costumes are a great way to assume a new identity & free yourself to be goofy & fun. But by all means you can attend as you are. Costume is not required. If you are going to join on Zoom, we strongly encourage you to put on a costume. It will help us to facilitate the costume contest on there.
