My dance Family and Friends, plans for this Saturday’s Anniversary Party at Opaline have changed:
Life Celebration for Brittany Newton-Miller
Our beloved friend and STAR dancer, Brittany Newton-Miller, has unexpectedly passed away. Her joy, energy, poise, and kindness were unmatched. We have lost the brightest star and I am absolutely heartbroken.
We also don’t know of a better way to celebrate our Brittany’s life than by gathering together and dancing hard.
So on Saturday night, we will still have a dance party filled with joyful, loving energy AND it will now also be a fundraiser for her family. I would love for you to attend, whether or not you knew Brittany closely. I’ll be playing many of her favorite songs— especially Bollywood and American pop.

Founder of Jai Ho! Dance Party (2010) & Dance United (2017), Prashant is an Ex-Intel engineer turned Choreographer & DJ based out of Portland, Oregon.

A self-taught guitar player and percussionist who got into Djing during COVID. Yello got inspiration during the pandemic to learn and explore his passion for music and now he specializes in music from across India.

Liesel lives and works in Portland and has recently been exploring her artistic talents through henna and pyrography. Her intricate designs are inspired by the symmetry of nature and the everyday patterns we see around us. Liesel is honored to participate in the tradition of henna and makes it a priority to be educated about multicultural henna studies, its long history, and culture.
The highlight of her work is feeling the deep and magical connection between plant and person while providing exquisite designs. Liesel truly appreciates the ability to participate in the connection and joy that henna brings to people and donates all proceeds to GiveIndia.

║ A brief history of JAI HO! in Portland:║
Prashant moved to the US from India in 2003 for graduate school at Cornell University. He started DJing, teaching dance, and hosting events in Portland after quitting a full-time job at Intel back in 2009.
Since then, he has traveled regularly across the west coast, Denver, and New Orleans producing amazing dance parties, that create and foster communities centered around celebrating world music & dance with a focus on South Asian culture sharing.
