Nigerian Music|Hip-Hop|Dancehall|Amapiano

I was born in France, and mostly grew up in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. As a kid, the Nigerian music scene was still up and coming. It wasn’t as global as it is today. We had the legends like Fela and Lagbaja rocking the audio, but for the most part, we listened to music from other parts of the world. I’m glad for this experience as it really broadened my music horizon. I listened to everything from Hip-hop, to Rock to Calypso to Zouk to Old-School Bon Jovi. Though I didn’t fall in love with every genre, I learned something different and unique about every type of sound.

There is an emotion attached to sound. When people hear a song, they immediately remember the first time they heard it. How they felt and who they were with. I love stringing these emotions together to create the event of your dreams. I love sound, and I can’t wait to bring your sound desires to life, whatever they may be”

DJ EQUIS

Juan Hernandez, known professionally as Dj Equis, is an American DJ, songwriter, record producer, and media personality.

Dj Equis is a man of many talents, one of them being the art he creates as a DJ. Born and raised in Seattle, Equis grew up listening to Kube93 as well as being around various family members who were DJs and musicians themselves. He ultimately fell in love with hip hop’s ability to transport him into the stories being told through rhyme. At a young age, he moved to Mexico for a few years where he was taught how to DJ by his cousins. Although he has professionally been making music since 2005, he initially began DJing when he was 12 years old and has since developed and perfected his skills, building his brand as a respected DJ.

Dj Equis shows love to his Latin roots in regards to his music, as he incorporates Latin sounds in his mixes.
