Here’s your opportunity to train alongside a cultural ambassador & a master teacher with over 12 years of experience specializing in teaching Bollywood, DJ Prashant. Having taught captivating workshops across the west coast, Denver & New Orleans regularly in 2018 & most recently in Costa Rica, Prashant is eager to bring his versatile & yet quintessential Bollywood dance style back home to Portland.

Audition will be held February 3rd from 2-4 PM. No Bollywood dance experience necessary, but at least a few years of dance training is strongly preferred.
About Prashant’s Bollywood Team:
– Team practice Mondays 8:30 PM – 9:30 PM (Feb/Mar 2019)
– Team will consist of a max of 15 people
– First team session will last 1 month (mid-Feb/Mar 2019)
– Focused on training, with an option to perform nationally for those interested
– Weekly Bollywood class (7:30 PM – 8:30 PM) is included in price and mandatory
– Free entry to all Portland dance parties hosted by Prashant
– Discount on private lessons with Prashant & Brittany
During the audition, you will learn a challenging Bollywood choreography & then perform it in groups for judging.
The audition & subsequent team practices will be assisted by the lead dancer of Prashant’s Jai Ho! Dance Troupe, Brittany Newton.

What to wear & bring?
Dress in comfortable clothes that you might wear to workout or a yoga class, we will be sweating a lot so make sure to stay hydrated before, during & after class. We have a water fountain but you are welcome to bring your own bottle.

About DJ Prashant:
Prashant brings 12 years of experience in teaching bollywood & bhangra dance at universities (PSU, REED & PCC), various dance studios (Portland & Seattle) & hundreds of cultural events to people from all ages, cultures & nationalities. When he is not traveling across the US teaching dance or DJ’ing, Prashant spends time being a playful housemate to his cat Anaïs.
About Brittany Newton:
The character driven nature of Bollywood music & dance captures her elegance & charisma perfectly. As the lead dancer and assistant instructor for the Jai Ho! Dance Troupe, Brittany has performed & taught dance across the US.
