║ A brief history of JAI HO! in Eugene:║
Prashant moved to the US from India in 2003 for graduate school at Cornell University. He started DJing, teaching dance, and hosting events in Portland after quitting a full-time job at Intel back in 2009.
Since then, Prashant has traveled regularly across the west coast, Denver, and New Orleans to produce MAD AWESOME dance parties, creating and fostering communities centered around celebrating world music & dance with a focus on South Asian culture sharing.
We started producing Bollywood nights in Eugene back in 2017 at Hi-Fi (now Sessions) music hall. We are thrilled to be hitting up The Big Dirty, Cowfish & Sessions on the regular in 2022.

Baksana is a fun-loving, high-energy, busking style belly dance ensemble based in Portland, OR. Dancers Bevin Victoria, Morgan Fay and Danielle Elizabeth perform an improvised format inspired by Middle Eastern, Balkan, Turkish, Romani, American Tribal Style® and western jazz/contemporary music and dance as well as choreographies rooted in folkloric stylizations.

Shiva – Rhythms of India was founded in the year 2018 in Seattle by a group of enthusiasts with passion for Indian beats. Team Shiva enthralls audiences with Dhol-Tasha, which is the traditional LIVE band, and an Integral part of any festival music of India.

BIPASA:
Bipasa started performing at the age of six and her first dance performance was to the song ‘Choli ke peeche’ ????. She has since practiced and performed many different styles of dance- bollywood, contemporary ballet, salsa, aerial and most recently belly dancing. Belly dancing quickly became her go to dance style. She absolutely loves belly dancing and bollywood music and is thrilled to bring you a mashup of these two worlds.
UW KAHAANI:
UW Kahaani is a competitive Bollywood fusion dance team from Seattle. They perform around the nation with other teams from the Desi Dance Network. Apart from competing, they often perform for local events, charities, and corporations.

Given the Shona name, Ziyanai Ziyai Maunganidze Maraire which means, “to know each other, bring together and spread wisdom” in his family’s native Zimbabwean tongue, the entertainer known as ZNi International, is living up to his namesake as he creates infectious feel-good music to captivate and spread good vibes to audiences worldwide.
With songs like “Satisfy” and “Nobody” under his belt, the artist has proven he is a force to be reckoned with and continues to challenge himself to create music for all.
In addition to releasing multiple projects of his own, the musician has garnered several producer credits to his name having partnered with brands including Well Being Trust, adidas, T-Mobile, Microsoft and more.
One of his earlier tracks “Beastmode,” featuring. Vanguards was featured on MTV’s “The Challenge” as well as in T-Mobile’s Motorolla Campaign for the Moto Z phone.

Liesel lives and works in Portland and has recently been exploring her artistic talents through henna and pyrography. Her intricate designs are inspired by the symmetry of nature and everyday patterns we see around us. Liesel is honored to participate in the tradition of henna and makes it a priority to be educated about multicultural henna studies, the long history and culture. The highlight of her work is feeling the deep and magical connection between plant and person while providing exquisite designs. ║ A brief history of JAI HO! in Portland:║
Prashant moved to the US from India in 2003 for graduate school at Cornell University. He started DJing, teaching dance, and hosting events in Portland after quitting a full-time job at Intel back in 2009.
Since then, Prashant has traveled regularly across the west coast, Denver, and New Orleans to produce MAD AWESOME dance parties, creating and fostering communities centered around celebrating world music & dance with a focus on South Asian culture sharing.

Bipasa started performing at the age of six and her first dance performance was to the song ‘Choli ke peeche’ ????. She has since practiced and performed many different styles of dance- bollywood, contemporary ballet, salsa, aerial and most recently belly dancing. Belly dancing quickly became her go to dance style. She absolutely loves belly dancing and bollywood music and is thrilled to bring you a mashup of these two worlds.
Shreyaa is a trained Kathak dancer under the Gangani Jaipur Gharana ever since the age of 3. Over the years, she’s experimented with many different dance forms performing and representing India all over the world. Recently, she’s started exploring the Ancient art of Egyptian Belly Dance building on her strengths of expression, agility and energy. She describes her dance journey as a lifelong love affair of growing, creating and expressing joyful movements. Shreya is super stoked to bring the magic of Bolly-Belly to everyone!
Rangeela Dance Company (RDC) is Seattle’s premier Bollywood Fusion dance company founded in 2016 by Priyanka Jain Vora, a trained classical Indian dancer and Bollywood dance choreographer. Our mission is to cultivate a community that celebrates and shares South Asian culture through the form of Indian dance. We are the first full-service Bollywood dance company to exist in Seattle.
Rangeela’s vision is to make dance accessible to all individuals through group and private dance classes for kids and adults, performing & visual arts for special events, and private choreography services. At Neon Holi, the Festival of Colors in Seattle we celebrate the coming of spring, the joy of friendship, and equality for all. All nationalities and ethnicities are encouraged to participate!
The Nightclub Holi portion of Jai Ho! Dance Party is a creation of our founder DJ Prashant who first experimented with bringing color powder inside the Chop Suey nightclub in March 2011 in Capitol Hill. Every year since then it has sold out in advance. Make sure to grab your tickets & come prepared to get bedazzled at the wildest most colorful party in town, complete with that Bollywood flair.

Chilly is a DJ, creative producer/audio editor, and writer for Seattle-based radio station KEXP 90.3fm / www.kexp.org. He’s the producer and host of KEXP’s modern Latin mixshow “El Sonido” (Mondays 6-9pm PST), and is also a club DJ with the Seattle Latin/global bass crew ¡Manos Arriba!
An engineer by profession, Lakshay has been pursuing his passion for DJing since his college days, spinning for private events in Delhi back in India.

CHAACH!! is the co-founder of the NYC based music label and Baile Funk promotion team XAO PRODUCTIONS, started in 2006 along with Kokos Kypros and DJ Comrade.
Since then he has worked and performed alongside such artists as Diplo, Mc Gringo, Nossa, Uproot Andy, Jah Dan (Major Lazer) Dj Gravy, Max Glazer, Nickodemus and countless artists heading the NYC and PDX Global Bass scene.
Gaining popularity as a producer in 2007 for the production of the song CHAMA O BOMBIERO, starring NYC Baile Funk Diva Zuzuka Poderosa as well as producing tracks for 77Klash and Jah Dan Blackamoore, CHAACH!! embraced the up and coming electro global music scene and helped bring it to its recent height in popularity.
He got his musical start in NYC and embodies influences from the East coast. Dance Hall Reggae, Pan-Latin music, Middle Eastern cuts, and early New York rave music are just the tip of where his inspiration comes from.
CHAACH!! Now resides in Portland Oregon where he has pioneered the global bass scene for over a decade playing old and new Latin and Afrobeat flavors as well as his originals, edits and remixes weekly.
His vision is to unite people with love and music and stomp out any hate or ignorance with a global dance vibe.
